We teamed up with L.A.-based fashion brand, A.L.C. to create the runway-ready sleepwear collection of our dreams. Made of 100% silk this limited-edition collab features luxurious sleepwear and bedding. Each piece is crafted with superior attention to detail from the back envelope pillowcases, an all-silk eye mask headband and delicate embroidery making these items timeless treasures for you and your home. We sat down with A.L.C. Founder, Andrea Lieberman, and Parachute Founder, Ariel Kaye, to talk through the design process of our dreamiest collaboration yet.

How did you two first connect – and how did this collaboration come together?

Ariel Kaye, Parachute: Andrea and I met a few years ago. I have always been a fan of the brand and was excited to partner and support each other in an unexpected way. We wanted the two businesses to work together naturally and showcase what we each do best. The collaboration took a while to come to fruition, timing is truly of the essence. We stayed in touch and kept revisiting the idea of working together and touching base. About a year ago we started really putting ideas and concepts to paper. We wanted the two businesses to work together naturally and showcase what we each do best.

Andrea Lieberman, A.L.C.:Our mutual friend introduced us several years ago. I love what Ariel has done at Parachute and couldn’t wait to work with her and the team. We’ve been interested in creating products for the home for a while now, and felt Parachute was the perfect partner.

Can you describe the design process? How do you typically share work when partnering with another brand?

Ariel:It was a really collaborative effort. We started by having our teams meet and visit each other’s spaces. We went downtown and saw, felt, touched their fabrics and got a sense for how they work. It was important to us that we make a collaboration that was contextually relevant for both brands. From that point on, we divided and conquered.

Andrea:Each design process is different. In this case, I was really open minded on ideas. We suggested several things from bedding to bath, but ultimately decided on my dream silk set of pajamas, a robe, eye mask and pillowcases.

The collection features a Silk Robe, Silk Pajama Set, Silk Pillowcase and a Silk Eye Mask. How did you decide on these pieces? Why was silk your fabric of choice?

Ariel:We haven't used silk before, but it's a material we've been wanting to work with for years. It's one of A.L.C.'s core fabrications so we were excited to learn from their expertise. When choosing the products, we wanted this collaboration to feel like a real capsule collection. We both took the lead on what we know best, which for us is bedding, and for them, apparel.

Andrea:Self-care is really important to me, and I wanted this capsule to be the perfect set for a relaxing night at home. We chose silk so it could be comfortable yet still luxurious and chic.

Ariel and Andrea

Ariel, you work in the home sphere, and Andrea, you’re in fashion. Clearly you both have taste. Can you tell us about your style?

Ariel:I love to invest in classic, timeless pieces that can be dressed up or down – in my closet and in my home. At the end of the day comfort is essential and I want fabrics that feel good and clothing that isn’t too restrictive.

Andrea:Chic, effortless design is important in every aspect of my life, whether it be a great outfit that takes me from school drop offs to business meetings or the Spanish-style home I’m currently finishing the design of in Santa Monica.

What item from the collaboration are you most excited about?

Ariel:It's hard to choose just one, but the Silk Pajama Set and the Embroidered Silk Robe are standouts.

Andrea:I’m so excited about the pajama set!

Dream bedding set and dream pajama set?

Ariel:I'm loving our new Brushed Cotton Duvet Cover Set and the Silk Pajama Set in blush.

Andrea:The Percale Venice Set from Parachute is my favorite. And my dream PJ set would have to be our striped set.

What do you love most about collaborating?

Ariel:They’re a great team so it was a pleasure to get to know them. We share similar brand values and it’s always great to work with another L.A.-based brand that celebrates quality.

Andrea:It’s always nice to work with other creative minds and great to see a different expression of our brand.

Both brands are L.A. founded and based. How did you capture a California vibe in this capsule?

Ariel:The embroidered palm trees on the silk robe are definitely an homage to our roots and the collection as a whole gives way to the effortless California style. The capsule is cool, comfortable and can be dressed up or down, at home or on the go.

Andrea:We captured the spirit of California by using embroidered palm trees on our robes and keeping everything feeling effortlessly cool and chic.
