Are you ready to get your glow on? Thereā€™s no need to resort to a harsh chemical ā€œpeelā€ to renew your complexion. Personal care products that contain benzoyl peroxide or alpha hydroxy acids can wreak havoc on your skin ā€” and P.S. they often wreak havoc onĀ yourĀ beddingĀ andĀ towels, too, causing bleaching and discoloration. We opt for all-natural alternativesā€¦pure enough to eat. You can find the ingredients for our favoriteĀ rejuvenating DIY face masks at any grocery store (or you may even have them on hand already). So next time youā€™re in the mood for a refreshing facial, turn to the fridge and pamper yourself atĀ home.

01

Rejuvenating Raspberry, Lemon, Chia and Coconut Facial (For Dry Skin)

If your skin is dry and flaky, this all-natural, highly effective treatment brightens, exfoliates and hydrates. The lemon and raspberries are bursting with natural alpha hydroxy acids to even out discoloration, and theyā€™re supercharged with Vitamin C and A to brighten your skin. The chia seeds act as a gentle exfoliator, sloughing away dull skin cells. And when it comes to deep hydration, nothing beats the moisturizing properties of coconut oil. Bonus: itsĀ natural scent will transport you to the tropics (extra relaxing).

Ingredients

  • 10 fresh raspberries

  • 1 tbspĀ lemon juice

  • 1 tbspĀ raw, organic coconut oil, chilled

  • 2 tbspsĀ chia seeds

Preparation

Mash raspberries with a mortal and pestle in a small bowl. Add lemon juice, chilled coconut oil and chia seeds thenĀ mix well. Coat face and neck with mask and relax for 10-15 minutes. Rinse with warm water. Store any unused mask in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days.

Balancing Oatmeal, Banana, Honey and Cinnamon Mask (For Oily/Combination Skin)

Is blotting your eternally oily or combination skin driving you nuts? Our Balancing Oatmeal, Banana, Honey and Cinnamon Mask will soothe your complexion and absorb excess oil. Oatmeal calmsĀ and heals irritated skin. Itā€™s the best base for sensitive skin because itā€™s so soothing. Mashed banana adds skin-nourishing Vitamin A, Vitamin E and potassium, which work to even out any discoloration, smoothe scaly skin and protect skin from sun damage. The honey acts a potent humectant, while the cinnamon reduces redness and puffiness. Plus it absorbs excess oil.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cĀ ground oatmeal (We loveĀ Earthā€™s Best Baby Oatmeal Cereal, or you can grind whole oats using a coffee grinder or food processor.)

  • 1/2 banana

  • 1 tbspĀ honey

  • 1 tbspĀ cinnamon

Preparation

Mash 1/2 banana with fork in a small bowl. In a separate bowl, mixĀ 1/2 cup ground oatmeal with enough warm water to create a thick paste. Combine oatmeal paste with mashed banana then add honey and cinnamon. Coat face and neck with mask and relax for 10-20 minutes. Rinse with warm water. Store any unused mask in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two days.
