It has always been our intention to expand beyond the bedroom and create comfort in other areas of the home – which is why we are thrilled to announce our debut into the rug category. Our initial assortment of area rugs includes four unique styles, all responsibly manufactured by an 80-year-old heritage textiles manufacturer in Panipat, India. Known as “The City of Weavers,” Panipat has a rich, centuries-old history in rug craftsmanship and to our partner, the craft is more than weaving textiles – it’s about preserving their culture.
A History of Tradition
Weaving is one of the oldest surviving practices in the world and as we researched potential manufacturers to partner with, the best products we came across were created by artisans from this country. After months of research, we found our ideal manufacturing partner – an 80-year-old heritage textiles manufacturer. By practicing age-old weaving techniques, they are also fighting the tide of mechanization in the textile industry and preserving knowledge for the next generation of artisans.

It's in the Details
It takes three to four weeks for numerous artisans to meticulously handcraft each rug. This includes hand-separating, dyeing and spinning the wool, hand-weaving each rug using traditional looms, and carefully finishing every rug with precision. As with all Parachute products, our area rugs are made using 100% natural fibers. The rugs are woven using a blend of cotton and wool, and are manufactured without the use of any harmful chemicals or synthetic materials.
