This month, we’re celebrating, learning and coming together to support the LGBTQIA+ community. The Parachute team is getting together virtually to watch Love, Simon, and we thought we would share a few more of our favorite LGBTQIA+ movies as well. Pride is as much a time for celebration as it is for recognizing and paying tribute to the community organizers, especially Black, transgender women, who paved the way for Pride to be what it is today. Grab your popcorn and your Oversized Rib Knit Throw as we come together for a special movie night.

01

'Disclosure'

Discover the impact of transgender stories in Hollywood in the poignant documentary, 'Disclosure', from Sam Feder. The film introduces viewers to LGBTQIA+ organizers, including Marsha P. Johnson and Sylvia Rivera, as they look at the history of transgender representation in the media.

02

'Moonlight'

'Moonlight' chronicles the life of a young Black man struggling to come to terms with his sexuality and identity. This award winning film follows the life of Chiron as he navigates the difficulties of childhood, adolescence and adulthood. Written and directed by Barry Jenkins, Moonlight is the first LGBTQ film to win the Oscar for Best Picture.

03

'Happiest Season'

Who doesn't love Christmas in June? A romantic holiday movie is sure to bring a smile to your face, especially when it stars Kristen Stewart. Turn on 'Happiest Season' as it explores lesbian romance, being true to yourself and explosive family dynamics. Did we mention Dan Levy also stars? You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll want to make eggnog in the summer!

04

'Paris is Burning'

'Paris is Burning' explores New York's drag scene in the 1980s. From getting into hair and makeup to voguing on the catwalk, this documentary showcases the beauty, vitality and the resilience of the movement in the city that never sleeps.

05

'Love Simon'

Simon Spier has a secret and when his secret is threatened he has to make some tough decisions. This coming-of-age story is about love, strength, courage and discovering your true self. The Parachute crew can't wait to watch 'Love, Simon' during Pride. Will you join us?
