    • Experience using a point of sale system required.
    • Ability to lift 10 pounds on a regular basis.
    • Experience in – and a passion for – home interiors is preferred.

    Parachute is looking for an experienced Director of Merchandising that has a passion for product coupled with a data driven mindset to ensure the product assortment meets the needs of our customers while achieving top line financial goals.  This role will navigate cross functional efforts across Product, Planning, Marketing, Technology, and Operations. This person must possess professional level communication skills and thrive in a dynamic, cross-functional, collaborative team environment.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Develop and implement merchandising and assortment strategies based on collaboration with Product, Marketing and Planning teams and driven by data that balance customers’ expectations and the company’s pricing and margin metrics
    • Identify product opportunities by analyzing sales performance and trends across all price points and categories
    • Work in close coordination with the Planning team on bi annual investment reviews, OTB, strategy by program and proposed product exits
    • Actively manage the seasonal launch timeline, product naming and communicate and any and all changes in a timely manner
    • Actively research and observe the competition on design, pricing and marketing standpoint to keep the brand innovative yet market relevant
    • Partner with Sourcing throughout development process to ensure margin goals are met
    • Lead seasonal post mortem reviews for Product and Marketing teams
    • Ownership of weekly, monthly, quarterly reporting and distribution of the information to key stake-holders
    • Liaison with Fulfillment and Digital on any packaging and shipping needs for new product, category expansions or collaborations

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • 7+ years experience in merchandising preferably within the home furnishings industry
    • Strong negotiation and communication skills
    • Strong analytical skills with an emphasis on product, trend and sales analysis
    • Ability to understand brand aesthetic and design
    • Possess basic knowledge of international production processes
    • Strong project management skills including the ability to plan timelines and manage multiple projects
    • Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, Word, PLM and ERP system management

    The Associate Merchandise Planner will be responsible for developing, executing and maintaining merchandise plans for multiple high growth departments.     RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Ensure the success of one or more departments by meeting or exceeding plans for sales volume, inventory turnover and gross margin
    • Create pre-season plans and in-season forecasts for multiple product categories
    • Recap and analyze actual sales results to plan and forecast in-season sales and inventories on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis
    • Forecast receipt flow to ensure optimal inventory levels that balance liability and opportunity
    • Assess and evaluate inventory risks and opportunities in a high-growth environment
    • Produce and transmit error-free purchase orders to vendors
    • Perform ad-hoc analysis based on historical performance, product attributes and customer attributes

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • BA degree
    • 1-2 years of experience in Planning, Buying, or Allocation
    • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel and strong aptitude to learn technical applications quickly
