Care
Keep all your Parachute items looking their best with these general care tips:
Avoid products containing benzoyl peroxide, alpha hydroxy acids and chlorine bleach. These items may include: skin care and acne medication, hair products and dyes, cosmetics, toothpastes and household cleaning products.
For stain removal, try Oxyclean instead of bleach.
Do not use fabric softeners, dryer sheets, harsh liquid or powdered detergents.
Don't wash with clothing – zippers, hooks, etc. cause abrasion.
Wash similar items together – same color and fabric.
Bedding
Sheets, pillowcases, duvet covers, quilts and coverlets:
Machine wash cool using mild, liquid laundry detergent. Do not bleach. Iron on low heat if desired. Tumble dry low. We recommend using Wool Dryer Balls instead of dryer sheets. Remove promptly. Learn more on how to properly care for your bedding.
Down and down alternative cleaning tips:
The easiest way to care for these items is by taking them to your local green dry cleaner. Never launder in small or top-loading washing machines. Avoid excess detergent. Use Wool Dryer Balls to speed up drying time. Do not use or store until completely dry.

Rugs:
It’s normal for natural fiber rugs to shed. To reduce shedding, vacuum your new rug several times before use. Vacuum regularly on low or sweep with broom. Blot spills immediately with a clean, dry cloth. Spot clean with mild soap as needed. If a loose end appears, do not pull; instead clip with scissors and tie a knot at loose ends. Avoid direct exposure to sunlight. Rotate rug occasionally to equalize wear. Store your rug by rolling and wrapping with cloth for protection. Professional cleaning recommended every two years with normal use.
Cotton and linen throws, pillow covers, table linens, kitchen towels and dog bed covers:
Machine wash cool using mild, liquid laundry detergent. Do not bleach. Iron on low heat if desired. Tumble dry low. Using Wool Dryer Balls instead of dryer sheets is recommended. Remove promptly.
Care for all wool, cashmere and alpaca:
Dry clean only.
Mattress
A few suggestions for making your mattress last:
The quilted cotton top is for sleeping on, so you should never flip the mattress over to sleep on the underside. For even wearing throughout its lifetime, you should rotate your mattress every six months. We recommend protecting your mattress with a mattress pad. If a stain occurs, spot clean as needed with warm water and mild detergent.
